Internet Crimes and Cyber Security

ABOUT THE COURSE:Students will gain knowledge of a variety of crimes, including identity theft, hacking, cyberterrorism, digital arrest, OTP fraud, cyber fraud, and deepfakes carried out online, especially on social media and its relationship to cyber law. The final portion of the course would give the students knowledge about cyber security solutions, like free Google forensic tools. They can use this knowledge to safeguard their online accounts, laptops, mobile devices, and other accessories from threats and vulnerabilities. Participants shall further understand distribution of information on public records for the purpose of tackling all forms of crimes in clear web, social media, deep web and dark web.INTENDED AUDIENCE: Law Students UG and PG, Advocates, Software professionals, Government Employees, social Workers, NGOs, etc.PREREQUISITES: UG students / Any Graduate

Syllabus

Week 1: INTRODUCTION TO LAW, CRIMINALIZATION OF CONDUCT IN CYBER SPACE. INTRODUCTION AND OVERVIEW OF INTERNET CRIMES AND CYBER LAW & CYBER JURISPRUDENCE. COMPARISON OF NEW AND OLD LAWS (BNS, BNSS AND BSA) REGULATORY FRAMEWORK FOR CYBERSPACE - NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL (IT RULES 2011, 2018, SOCIAL MEDIA ETHICS CODE 2021) (NATIONAL IT POLICY 2013), NIST, ENISA.
