ABOUT THE COURSE:
Epigenetics is new branch of biology discipline which deals about the study of changes of gene activity without altering the underlying DNA sequence and can be strongly influenced by environmental factors. The eukaryotes are subjected to cell and tissues specific differential gene expression, despite every cells contains the same genetic information. The critical regulators which control these processes are epigenetic players. The fine-tuning of gene expression in every cells are essential for successful development of cells/organisms. Mis-regulation of epigenetics players leads to many chronic diseases. Therefore, it is essential to understand the fundamental process of genes regulation. This course will provide the platform to learn the basics of Molecular Epigenetics, a new layer of gene regulation in eukaryotes and epigenome projects.
