ABOUT THE COURSE:
In today’s data-driven era, production economics in general, and efficiency and productivity analysis in particular, have become indispensable tools for evaluating the performance of decision-making units. Advanced methods of efficiency and productivity analysis are widely applied in empirical research across economics and allied disciplines, including agriculture, energy and environmental studies, operations research, banking, healthcare, manufacturing, transportation and communication utilities, and various branches of engineering.
This course will help students and researchers become familiar with the concepts of efficiency and productivity analysis and their applications across diverse fields of specialization using MATLAB.
Learning Objectives :
In summary, this NPTEL course will be among the first to integrate MATLAB programming with efficiency and productivity analysis in economics and allied disciplines.
INTENDED AUDIENCE:
PREREQUISITES:
INDUSTRY SUPPORT:
This course will be particularly useful for researchers, analysts, policymakers, and industry professionals engaged in the performance evaluation of organizations in the healthcare, energy, education, agriculture, banking, and financial services sectors, as well as for experts involved in environmental performance assessment.
Through the MathWorks–NPTEL Support Program, enrolled learners will receive access to MATLAB Online licenses during the course learning and evaluation period, enabling hands-on implementation of the concepts, techniques, and applications covered in the course.
