ABOUT THE COURSE:Archaeology is a vital subject that recovers ancient data in its material and contextual form, helping to reconstruct the past. This course introduces to enhance the concept of field Archaeology. Participants will get the information of Archaeological meaning, field techniques, Methods of Data retrieval, Dating Methods, Chronology, Documentation and interpretation of Archaeological objects. This course introduces the students to the concepts and practical approaches in archaeology. Upon completing this course, students will be able to conduct systematic explorations, identify various types of sites, and understand the aims and scope of archaeology, as well as the relevance of archaeological studies in reconstructing the human past.INTENDED AUDIENCE:1. Open to all interested in knowing about our past. 2. Youngsters who are interested in India’s rich Archaeological-historical-cultural past. 3. Week 3- Nature and type of archaeological sites
Week 4- Methods of archaeological explorations
Week 5- Methods of archaeological excavations
Week 6-Stratigraphy & Methods of recording and documentation
Week 7- Methods of classification of data and scientific analysis
Week 8- Various dating methods: Relative and Absolute
