This course steps into the role of industrial data architects to dismantle legacy tracking models and replace them with dynamic, live data products. Modern manufacturing plants face a severe operational bottleneck when translating high-velocity floor logs into instant executive strategy. By establishing low-latency digital oversight, organizations can transition away from broken manual templates that cause costly reporting blind spots.

Participants learn to construct an end-to-end cloud infrastructure where physical sensors are securely routed into an Azure IoT Hub gateway. The curriculum covers streaming data directly into Power BI via DirectQuery and streaming dataset configurations. Through hands-on exercises, participants map out an optimized relational semantic model to act as a Digital Twin representation of physical asset catalogs.

Participants will implement advanced Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) with defensive functions like DIVIDE and COALESCE to handle unstable telemetry gracefully. The course guides learners to configure gauge charts, status heatmaps, cycle time trend lines, and scatter plots to isolate underperforming assets. Additionally, participants learn to set up automated threshold logic for Microsoft Teams alerts and deploy dual-axis Pareto charts to rank maintenance priorities by downtime duration.

Syllabus

  • Connect Power BI to live machine sensor outputs via Azure IoT Hub.
  • Build interactive Digital Twins using DirectQuery and streaming datasets.
  • Author defensive DAX measures with DIVIDE and COALESCE to handle unstable telemetry gracefully.
  • Calculate and visualize OEE metrics to isolate availability, performance, and quality losses.
  • Design scannable operational visuals including gauge charts, status heatmaps, and trend lines.
  • Configure threshold-based data alerts that trigger automated notifications to Microsoft Teams.
  • Build dual-axis downtime Pareto charts to prioritize high-impact maintenance issues.
  • Create a unified visual command center integrating live incidents with predictive forecasting curves.
