Build secure virtual infrastructure with enterprise security, virtualization, and IT monitoring skills.
Learn data center protection, vCenter cluster security, ESXi hardening, encryption, compliance, and Nagios XI monitoring.
This Specialization prepares learners to secure, configure, and monitor modern enterprise IT environments. You will begin by applying data center security principles, managing compliance requirements, supporting incident response, and implementing security policies using Microsoft System Center tools.
You will then build a secure vCenter environment by configuring shared storage, virtual networking, clustered resources, and hardened ESXi hosts. Practical activities cover password policy enforcement, virtual machine encryption, vMotion encryption, and role-based access management.
The final course develops enterprise monitoring skills using Nagios XI. You will monitor Windows and Linux systems, websites, FTP services, and network ports while configuring discovery, notifications, downtime schedules, dashboards, and reports.
By completing the Specialization, you will be able to integrate infrastructure security, secure virtualization, compliance controls, access management, and proactive monitoring into resilient IT operations. Product names are used solely to identify the technologies covered in the learning activities.

Master the essential skills needed to deploy, monitor, customize, and optimize IT infrastructure using Nagios XI. In this course, you'll begin by learning how to implement Nagios XI in virtualized environments, explore its dashboard, and manage users, components, and administrative features. You'll then configure monitoring for Windows and Linux systems using monitoring agents and configuration wizards to establish effective system checks. As you progress, you'll expand your monitoring capabilities by configuring checks for websites, FTP servers, and network ports while using auto-discovery to support larger environments. You'll also learn how to design downtime schedules and notification rules that improve alert management and incident response. Finally, you'll customize Nagios XI with custom variables, personalized dashboards, and scheduled reports that provide meaningful insights for stakeholders. This course is designed for learners who want to build practical skills in IT infrastructure monitoring and system management using Nagios XI. By the end of the course, you'll be able to deploy Nagios XI, configure monitoring across Windows and Linux environments, manage alerts and notifications, customize dashboards and reports, and optimize enterprise IT monitoring workflows with confidence through hands-on, real-world administration tasks.

Learners will gain the ability to configure secure VCenter environments, implement shared storage and networking for VM clusters, apply ESXi host hardening, enforce password policies, enable VM and vMotion encryption, and manage access through vSphere roles and permissions. This course provides hands-on, project-based learning focused on building a secure and production-ready VCenter infrastructure. Learners will move step by step through the setup of shared disks, network configuration, and ESXi hardening, followed by advanced security practices such as PowerShell-based password policy enforcement, virtual machine encryption, and controlled access management. By completing this course, learners will develop practical skills required to design, secure, and manage clustered virtual environments commonly used in enterprise data centers. What makes this course unique is its integrated, end-to-end approach that combines infrastructure setup with security and access control in a single cohesive project. Rather than isolated concepts, learners experience how storage, networking, security policies, encryption, and permissions work together to create a resilient and secure VCenter environment. This course is ideal for learners seeking applied VCenter security and cluster configuration skills aligned with real-world virtualization practices.
