A second-semester computer science course that moves from basic programming to object-oriented development in C++ and Java. Topics include the building blocks of object-oriented programming, differences between C++ and Java, the C++ Standard Template Library, the Java container library, exception handling, recursion, and searching and sorting techniques. Intended for learners who have already completed an introductory programming course and want to deepen their command of both languages and of core data structures and algorithms. Includes a final exam leading to a certificate and possible direct credit.
