Overview

Throughout this course, you will be required to complete several missions every day from Monday to Fridayon the OpenLearning platform. These missions come with audioaids, videos, and spaces for you to share your own stories, experiences and opinions.While it is a self-paced course (you decide when you'd like to complete the missions), we estimate that you will spendat most 30 minutes on missions for each day. This course will be delivered according to the following schedule: Week 1: Module 1: What is waste? Week 2: Module 2: Where does waste go? Week 3: Module 3: Types of waste Week 4: Module 4: How much waste do we produce? Week 5: Module 5: What can we do about it?

Syllabus

  • Define waste.
  • Describe the process of waste management.
  • Categorise waste into solid, liquid, organic, inorganic, and recyclable waste.
  • Conduct a waste audit and record your findings in a waste diary.
  • Practice the 6R's: refuse, reduce, reuse, repair, recycle, and rot.
