Syllabus

Demonstrate theoretical knowledge and concepts to become a registered nurse.
Apply with initiative the best available evidence in order to provide safe person centered care.
Demonstrate knowledge on the anatomy and physiology of body systems and maintaining health.
Develop skills for academic literacy, referencing and numeracy appropriate for tertiary nursing studies.
1. Discuss the discipline of nursing and the context of professional practice
2. Discuss the roles and functions of the registered nurse
3. Discuss the expected competency standards and boundaries of practice for the registered nurse
4. Differentiate between legal and ethical responsibilities of the registered nurse.
