This course introduces the theory and principles of ethical hacking and information security, including the hacking cycle and attack-and-defence methods for computer and network environments. Learners also communicate their work through reports and presentations and relate ethical hacking practices to professional contexts.

Syllabus

Explain the theory and principles of Computer Science specialising in ethical hacking.(C2, PLO1).
Analyze theory and principles of information security, element of security, hacking cycle, hacktivsm and ethical hacking.(C4, PLO2)
Construct attack and defence methods into computer and network environments.(P4, PLO3)
Demonstrate communication effectively in written and oral form through report and presentation session.(A4, PLO5)
Relate their surrounding environment (i.e. economy, environmental, cultural) with the professional practice by demonstrating usage of data and ethical hacking methods and tools.(A4, PLO11)
