This foundational course introduces business management through organisational effectiveness, financial management, customer understanding, business-environment analysis, sustainability, and strategic decision-making.

Syllabus

1. Demonstrate understanding of organisational structure, human resource management, and team management in achieving workplace effectiveness.
2. Apply basic financial management concepts, including financial statements, budgeting, and cost analysis, to support managerial decision-making and resource control.
3. Apply basic concepts of customer understanding, including customer roles, segmentation, and needs, to support simple business strategies.
4. Analyse the influence of internal and external business environments by applying PESTEL and industry analysis tools, and evaluate sustainability, ESG, and globalisation issues to support effective business strategies. In addition, apply decision-making processes and planning principles to address organisational and strategic challenges
