Overview

Course Objectives

The Data Logging & Visualization for Smart Factory program offers the following :

◼️ Overview of Machine Data Logging and Visualization methods

◼️ Utilize Node-Red to store machine process information and sensor data with timestamp information into an on-premise and/or cloud-based database (such as SQL and/or time-series database)

◼️ Utilize a time-series visualization platform to display real-time and historical data from an on-premise and/or cloud-based database

It is recommended to have knowledge and be familiar with software such as Node-red, MQTT and also have confidence in basic JavaScript coding.

After going through this online course, you will have successfully created a local machine database to log simulated data from line sensors and buttons, as well as being able to visualize data points sourced from a database.

Later on, you will be able to reuse and transfer the completed work (softcopy) to upscale and implement it to a larger system of your own design.

Syllabus

  • Demonstrate the use of Node-red context data
  • Demonstrate how to install, create and use a database server to log data points
  • Create a simple visualization of data points using an open source application
  • Create a Node-red simulation to log data & visualize them
