Syllabus

  • 1. Understand the basic bioethical principles and ethno-cultural nuances in the Philippine & Asian field of clinical bioethics in advance care planning & end-of-life care.
  • The learner will understand the foundational bioethical principles in advance care planning & end of life care in the first 2 modules and will appreciate the ethical frameworks within the unique cultural milieu of the Philippines and other Asian countries in the second to third module.
  • 1. Upon completing the course, students must be able to understand the foundational bioethical principles and ethno-cultural nuances in the Philippine & Asian field of clinical bioethics in advance care planning & end-of-life care (I). 2. Apply basic bioethical principles and frameworks to common end-of-life and clinical scenarios (D & R) 3. Demonstrate shared decision-making & communication skills in managing end-of-life care and advance care planning in a simulated scenario. (D)
  • 1. compare and contrast the different bioethical approaches as they relate to end of life planning.
  • The student will enumerate and identify the bioethical principles and ethno-cultural influences in advance care planning & end of life care
  • 2. analyze ethno-cultural nuances in the Philippine & Asian field of clinical bioethics in advance care planning
