Principles and practices of peace education explores how peace might be built in everyday classroom practice. It can be used as individual study or as a basis for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) with a larger group. It introduces layers of peace education for children and young people, including inner-peace and wellbeing; interpersonal peace through positive relationships and constructive approaches to conflict; and critical thinking about the world beyond the classroom. The course introduces theories and practice of peace education from across the UK and beyond. As well as simple, practical ideas for use in the classroom, it offers links to materials for further study and curriculum planning. This course will also be relevant for people working with children and young people in informal and community settings.TranscriptThe Open University would really appreciate a few minutes of your time to tell us about yourself and your expectations for the course before you begin, in our start-of-course survey. Once you complete the course we would also value your feedback and suggestions for future improvement, in our end-of-course survey.
