Overview
Feeding challenges in infants are rarely just about latch. They are often influenced by alignment, muscle tone, movement patterns, nervous system regulation, and the quality of connection between parent and baby.
In this practical 2-part webinar series, Brianne Taggart introduces infant massage as a gentle, supportive tool that may be used alongside feeding education, lactation support and appropriate clinical care.
You’ll explore how safe, parent-led touch can support comfort, postural alignment, regulation and bonding, while also learning how to recognise when massage may be an appropriate adjunct to feeding support.
Session Breakdown
Session 1: Feeding, Alignment and Regulation
Learn how infant feeding may be influenced by muscle tone, postural alignment, asymmetry, movement restriction and nervous system regulation. Brianne will introduce key concepts that help explain why feeding challenges may involve more than latch alone.
Session 2: Parent-Led Infant Massage Techniques
Explore simple, safe infant massage techniques that may support comfort, alignment, regulation and caregiver confidence. The session also focuses on how to teach parents practical strategies they can use at home within a family-centred care model.
