  • Learn how Copilot Cowork lets you delegate multi-step work across your apps. Describe a goal, review the plan, approve actions, and review the results — while you stay in control.

After completing this module, you'll be able to:

    • Differentiate Copilot Chat, agents, and Cowork and choose the right AI tool for the shape of work in front of you.
    • Recognize how Cowork's pay-as-you-go usage works, check what a task uses, and let model choice work in your favor.
    • Describe how Cowork carries out multi-step work: from your request through planning, progress, approval, and results.
    • Write effective requests that help Cowork produce useful, well-scoped results.
    • Identify scenarios where Cowork adds the most value, such as meeting prep, calendar triage, company research, and launch planning.
    • Recognize the security model that applies to Cowork and the known limitations to keep in mind as you work.
  • Learn how to apply Copilot Cowork to everyday workflows — inbox and calendar triage, meeting prep and follow-up, and producing multi-app deliverables like reports, decks, and interactive dashboards — by describing outcomes and delegating multistep work.

After completing this module, you'll be able to:

    • Recognize when to delegate work to Cowork instead of asking a chat assistant, and apply the "describe outcomes, not steps" mindset.
    • Explain how Work IQ grounds Cowork in your mail, files, meetings, and calendar.
    • Triage your inbox and reclaim your calendar with Cowork.
    • Prepare for meetings and follow through across your apps.
    • Produce multi-app deliverables — including reports, decks, and interactive dashboards — from your own work.
  • Learn how to make recurring work run itself with Copilot Cowork. Schedule recurring tasks, build reusable custom skills that capture a process or writing voice, extend Cowork with plugins and connectors, and stay in control of the work that runs on its own.

After completing this module, you'll be able to:

    • Distinguish between setting a task to run on its own and building a custom skill, and decide which to use.
    • Set Cowork tasks to run on their own or on schedule like a Monday-morning briefing or in response to an event like an email arriving.
    • Build reusable Cowork skills that capture a repeatable process or writing style.
    • Describe how plugins and connectors extend Cowork into connected tools.
    • Stay in control of automated work by approving sensitive actions, managing session permissions, and tracking what your scheduled tasks produce.
