Build practical Java development and unit testing skills with JUnit through hands-on programming, automated validation, and a complete application project.
Learn to write reliable Java code, design effective tests, identify defects early, and improve software quality with structured testing workflows.
This Specialization takes you from core Java programming to structured unit testing and project-based application development. You will strengthen your understanding of Java syntax, object-oriented programming, exception handling, file operations, GUI development, JDBC connectivity, and desktop application design. You will then apply JUnit testing techniques to validate program logic, organize test execution, compare expected and actual results, isolate dependencies, and manage grouped testing scenarios.
In the final course, you will build and test a complete Java Library Management System using POJO classes, collections, regular expressions, input validation, exception handling, and automated unit tests. By completing the Specialization, you will be able to develop maintainable Java applications, create reusable test cases, interpret test feedback, and apply quality-focused development practices to real-world projects.

Build practical Java programming skills from foundational syntax to complete desktop application development. You’ll begin by setting up the JDK and NetBeans, writing basic programs, handling user input, and applying operators, conditionals, loops, and methods. You’ll then explore object-oriented programming through method overloading and overriding, abstract classes, interfaces, packages, access modifiers, encapsulation, and collections. As you progress, you’ll work with wrapper classes, Java Math functions, strings, inner classes, exception handling, and file and directory operations. You’ll also create interactive interfaces with Java AWT and Swing, connect applications to relational databases using JDBC, and implement database operations and real-time login authentication. Designed for aspiring software developers, computer science students, and professionals strengthening their Java expertise, this course combines progressive instruction with hands-on projects. You’ll build an ATM simulation, a Snake game, a JDBC-connected login system, an Attendance Management System, and an Employee Management System with CRUD operations. By the end, you’ll be able to design, develop, test, and organize end-to-end Java desktop applications in NetBeans. Enroll to turn core Java concepts into practical, user-interactive systems through structured, project-based learning.

Learners will gain the ability to validate program logic, structure automated checks, manage execution flow, and organize scalable testing strategies within Java-based projects. By the end of this course, learners will confidently apply structured validation techniques, interpret execution feedback, and manage grouped and isolated testing scenarios. This course guides learners through the practical foundations of automated validation, starting with early logic verification and progressing toward structured test management. Learners explore how to create focused validation logic, execute repeated checks efficiently, and analyze diagnostic output to identify and correct issues. The course also demonstrates how controlled execution flow, result comparison strategies, and grouped execution improve reliability as projects grow. What makes this course unique is its end-to-end focus on practical validation thinking, not just syntax. Learners move beyond writing isolated checks to understanding how validation supports development efficiency, stability, and confidence. The course emphasizes real-world development scenarios, including handling dependencies through isolation techniques, making it highly relevant for modern software workflows. This course is ideal for learners seeking to strengthen development quality, improve code confidence, and adopt industry-aligned automated validation practices.

By completing this course, learners will be able to analyze real-world requirements, design data models using Java POJO classes, implement menu-driven console applications, apply robust input validation with regular expressions, and develop automated unit tests using JUnit to ensure code reliability. This course guides learners through the end-to-end development of a Library Management System using core Java and JUnit, emphasizing practical implementation rather than theory alone. Learners gain hands-on experience in structuring applications, managing collections dynamically, handling exceptions gracefully, validating user input, and writing effective unit tests that support continuous quality assurance. What makes this course unique is its project-centric approach that mirrors real-world software development workflows. Instead of isolated examples, learners build a complete working system while adopting best practices in validation and testing. By the end of the course, learners will have a solid foundation in Java application development, improved problem-solving skills, and a portfolio-ready project that demonstrates practical knowledge of building, validating, and testing enterprise-style Java applications.
