This specialization offers a comprehensive exploration of advanced bodywork methodologies that integrate neurophysiology, subtle touch, and somatic awareness. Through courses on vagus nerve stimulation, craniosacral therapy, and somatic practice, learners develop the skills to regulate the nervous system, address pain patterns, and facilitate deep healing responses. With expert instruction, guided demonstrations, and practical assignments, participants will gain the confidence to incorporate integrative manual and mind-body techniques into rehabilitative and wellness settings.
Syllabus
- Course 1: Somatic Therapy and Body-Based Healing
- Course 2: Vagus Nerve Function & Therapeutic Applications
- Course 3: Craniosacral Therapy Essentials: Theory and Application

Stress, pain, posture, tension, and nervous system overload can all affect how the body feels, moves, and recovers. Craniosacral therapy uses gentle, precise touch to assess subtle restrictions and support the body’s natural ability to regulate, release tension, and restore balance. By the end of this course, learners will understand the foundations of craniosacral therapy and how it may be applied to support comfort, mobility, posture, and overall well-being. Led by Kelly Saxton, ATC, this course introduces the anatomy and physiology of the craniosacral system, including cranial rhythms, fluid motion, tissue restriction, and the role of gentle palpation. Through practical demonstrations and case discussions, learners explore how to listen through the hands, identify areas of restriction, apply integrative techniques, and support self-correction through subtle manual work. Healthcare, bodywork, rehabilitation, and performance professionals will gain an accessible framework for adding craniosacral concepts to practice, while general learners will better understand how gentle touch therapies may support pain, stress reduction, and functional improvement.

By the end of this course, you will (1) apply somatic awareness and body-based dialogue in therapy and (2) use movement and sensation to guide clients toward regulation and connection. This course introduces the foundations of somatic practice—teaching how to listen to and interpret the body’s nonverbal signals. Through live demonstrations, guided exercises, and reflection assignments, you’ll learn techniques to enhance client awareness, reduce stress, and build emotional resilience. The course highlights practical methods that integrate with manual therapy, coaching, and movement disciplines. What sets it apart is its focus on presence and communication—helping professionals move beyond symptom treatment to address the body-mind relationship as a pathway to deeper healing and self-awareness.

By the end of this course, you will (1) explain the anatomy and function of the vagus nerve and (2) apply manual and breathing techniques to regulate the autonomic nervous system. Presented by John Wilks, this course explores the neurophysiological foundation of vagus nerve stimulation and its clinical relevance for pain, recovery, and emotional regulation. You’ll learn palpation-based methods, breathing strategies, and self-regulation techniques that promote vagal tone and parasympathetic balance. Through video demonstrations, readings, and case examples, you’ll connect nervous system theory with hands-on practice. What makes this course unique is its integration of bodywork and neuroscience—providing evidence-informed tools to enhance manual therapy outcomes and client resilience.
