User and system accounts are a necessary part of any IT infrastructure, and properly securing those identities is a critical piece to any successful cyber security program. This course will take you through the basics of authentication, authorization, and accounting - including what they are and how each is used with identity and access management. You'll learn about the various types of authentication that are commonly used, including how to better protect the identities in your environment. In addition, we'll cover different systems that are used for authentication and authorization and how they fit into an overall IAM program. To wrap it up, we'll see why logging and auditing are important and how everything comes together to build the IAM lifecycle.
