Cloud Security Principles is the first course of a learning path that’s designed to empower beginners to protect cloud deployments from evolving cyber threats and contribute to enhancing overall cloud security posture. The course begins by introducing the fundamentals of cloud defensive security, highlighting the unique challenges and considerations associated with securing cloud environments, as well as the Shared Responsibility Model. Next, the course will cover common cloud vulnerabilities identified by the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP), which students will learn how to mitigate. Students will also learn about frameworks and models that provide a structured approach to proactively securing cloud environments from advanced cyber attacks. Finally, the course concludes with an overview of the NIST incident response life cycle. By the end of this course, students will have a solid understanding of cloud defensive security concepts, be able to identify common cloud vulnerabilities, understand the stages of the Cyber Kill Chain and the MITRE Adversarial Tactics, Techniques, and Common Knowledge (ATT&CK) Cloud Matrix, create cloud attack graphs, understand defense-in-depth strategies, and recognize the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) incident response life cycle.
