Overview

The course provides an introduction to education key topics, strategies and techniques, paying specific attention to dialogical perspectives, cultural diversity, and critical incidents, three issues that are offered as a red thread across the different learning units. The first four lessons present current pedagogical approaches, resources and tools with specific attention for learning environments and the dimensions of observation, listening, collaboration, collective agency. Considering cultural diversity as an advantage, the following lessons describe theories, tools and practical examples concerning educational and policy approaches to culturally diverse settings. The final lesson discusses pedagogies of hope and the role of education in relation to the capacity to aspire. Each lesson hosts contributions by one of 8 scholars and practitioners from different geographies and educational settings.
