The MyFAA Safety Management Systems (SMS) training course provides aviation personnel with a practical understanding of how to implement and maintain an effective SMS in accordance with FAA 14 CFR Part 5, FAA AC 120-92, and ICAO Annex 19. The course explains the four core components of SMS: Safety Policy, Safety Risk Management, Safety Assurance, and Safety Promotion. Participants learn how to identify hazards, assess risk, and apply corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to improve operational safety. The training also covers voluntary safety reporting, risk evaluation methods, and continuous improvement practices used in modern aviation safety programs.
