HP AI Teacher Academy 2.0 has been updated for 2026 and is designed to equip educators with the essential knowledge, skills, and metacognitive practices to understand, use, and evaluate generative AI systems and tools. Through six interactive, self- guided modules, participants will learn about AI literacy, effective prompting techniques, practical applications, limitations of generative AI, and strategies for integrating AI into teaching. By the course’s end, educators will be prepared to navigate AI’s risks and benefits, leveraging it ethically and effectively in educational settings. New for 2026 is a module focused on designing and facilitating powerful learning and student experiences with AI. (Approximate time: 4 hrs.)

The course encourages participants to join a LinkedIn online community to enhance their learning and connect with fellow educators focused on AI in education. This community offers a space to share projects, discuss trends, and seek guidance on generative AI. It also provides networking opportunities, access to practice prompts, and participation in an “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) series, keeping members informed and engaged with ongoing resources and discussions.

Understand Generative AI:

  • Define generative AI and identify its key components
  • Recognize common generative AI technologies in education, like AI tutors and content generators.
  • Explore domains of generative AI and their educational applications.
  • Discuss the ethical and social implications of generative AI, focusing on responsible use.

Understand Prompt Engineering:

  • Explain prompt engineering and its educational benefits.
  • Teach how to write effective prompts for instructional use.

Identify Practical Applications of AI in Education:

  • Use generative AI for administrative tasks, lesson planning, instructional material creation, and differentiated instruction.
  • Review and edit AI-generated content for accuracy.
  • Evaluate the benefits and limitations of generative AI in instructional planning.
  • Utilize generative AI for creating assessments and providing personalized feedback to students.

Identify best practices for AI use, including privacy protection, bias awareness, and responsible data handling.

  • Develop AI literacy in students, emphasizing understanding AI capabilities and limitations.
  • Address academic integrity, distinguishing between original work and AI- generated content, and ensuring compliance with privacy policies like GDPR, FERPA and COPPA.
