Welcome to the Institutional Sector Accounts course, presented by presented by the Institute for Capacity Development and the Statistics Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

This course offers a detailed overview of the compilation of institutional sector accounts based on the System of National Accounts (SNA) framework. Participants will gain an understanding of the fundamental concepts, methodologies, and importance of these accounts in analyzing economic activities.

In this course, you'll explore the sequence of accounts and the various institutional sectors. We will dive into how the SNA tracks production and income across different sectors of the economy. Additionally, you will learn how to compile transactions and positions in both financial assets, nonfinancial assets and liabilities, as well as how to record changes in asset values.

By the end of this course, participants will be better equipped to contribute to informed economic decision-making, enhancing their expertise in this critical area of economic analysis.
