For product leaders, creating new new products and improving existing products are imperatives for success. Maturing technologies and aging product portfolios are requiring companies to discover, develop, and deliver products that customers love. This course is focused on the first step of this journey, identifying and evaluating new product opportunities.
This course is primarily aimed at professionals who are inspired, or tasked, to develop and lead products. This include aspiring and active product managers, product designers, product developers, and others in the product arena. This course is also valuable to anyone interested in how to developing innovative ideas for new products.
We will focus on four important areas to develop and enhance your capabilities as a product leader:
• Introducing the skills for identifying and analyzing entrepreneurial ideas for new or improved products;
• Examining entrepreneurial thinking within yourself and your colleagues with an awareness of entrepreneurial mindset, entrepreneurial motivations, and entrepreneurial behaviors;
• Cultivating seeing entrepreneurially within yourself and your colleagues with attention to industry conditions, industry status, macroeconomic change, and competition; and
• Championing acting entrepreneurially within the corporate environment with an understanding of value innovation and opportunity identification.

I enjoyed this course, it was very clear and easy to understand, Professor Green did a good job of conveying the overall message, I figure it must be fun to have a professor who is closer to your generation and interested in the same stuff.

The course content is very good, but the methodology is not. The course consists of reading the whole book, and watching videos with exactly the same content, which becomes repetitive and boring.
But points for the content which is very interesting -
Comment and examples are old. I was expecting something more actualized.
Although material is interesting, of not quite what I'm looking for in a product management specialization. -
Worth taking up this course. I liked the the framework (Canvas) and the methodology with which various aspects of innovation and product development have been conveyed with real time examples.

This course was excellent fro understanding how to visualize and validate a good idea. Taking you through the process of ideating, validating, and realizing what it takes to be an entrepreneur and what it takes to have a successful idea that has the most chance statistically of succeeding.

The course is very educative, I must say. Anyone looking to begin a new venture or launch a new product into the market should get started with this course. I learnt a whole lot and the recommended textbook, "The Opportunity Analysis Canvas" by Dr. Green has a been a great guide and companion so far.

pretty elementary. the book is essential for the course and has to be purchased. so it further diluted my experience. the principle is interesting but not very engaging

The course helps you in understanding different topics that is relevant when you are planning for new entrepreneurial opportunities. The topic ranges from having Entrepreneurial mindset, motivation to then transform to entrepreneur behavior. How to then see and act entrepreneurially accordingly. It also focuses on what factors to be considered when pitching into the market namely industry status , industry condition, macroeconomic condition, competition ,value curve, right team building and finally leading to opportunity identification. Course is very well balanced with real life examples. The contents are very relevant though the examples in the videos are bit outdated which could be worked on.

Wow! Very detailed course. It has broaden my understanding on entrepreneurialship . Hence u will try out all topics in this course as I intend to enter to the entrepreneurialship world and be a success

This was a very interesting course. I enjoyed it thoroughly. The approach to teaching and learning was also apt although the some videos were longer that am use to on coursera classes. Nonetheless, it was a good first step for me in my journey to product management.
