Quantum 201: Quantum Computing & Quantum Internet

Delft University of Technology via edX Professional Certificate

Overview

Quantum computation and communication, which are based on quantum phenomena, will have great technological and societal impact. Quantum computers will be able to solve complex problems that are intractable for even the most powerful classical computers. Similarly, quantum communication offers several advantages, including the ability to create secure encryption keys where security relies on the laws of quantum mechanics. But where do these applications come from? And how do they work?

In the program Quantum 101: Quantum Computing and Quantum Information, we offer the basics needed to answer this question. Now we are ready to go deeper on our journey!

Quantum 201 program consists of two advanced-level courses that will provide you with a stronger understanding of quantum computing and quantum communication. We will delve into quantum bits, quantum operations and measurements. You will understand the techniques used in quantum algorithms and examine examples of such algorithms.

To fully benefit from this program, some knowledge of linear algebra, probability, and statistics is recommended. However, reference material is provided in the courses. Come and join us on a journey beyond what is known to us now and help us envision a new world with quantum technologies!

This course is authored by experts from the QuTech research center at Delft University of Technology. In the center, scientists and engineers work together to drive research and development in quantum technology. QuTech Academy's aim is to inspire, share and disseminate knowledge about the latest developments in quantum technology.

Syllabus
