Get started with n8n and learn to build automated workflows using triggers, logic, APIs, and AI; no coding required.

Workflow automation is becoming a core skill for modern teams, and n8n is one of the most powerful and flexible tools available. In this beginner-friendly course, you’ll learn how to design, build, and test automated workflows using n8n’s visual, no-code interface.

Build Workflows with Triggers and Data Flow

You’ll start by exploring how workflows work in n8n, including the canvas, nodes, triggers, and data flow. You’ll build hands-on workflows using Manual, Form, and Webhook triggers, learning how to capture input, route data, and connect steps reliably.

Add Logic, Validation, and Error Handling

As you progress, you’ll add structure and intelligence to your workflows using If and Switch nodes. You’ll transform and clean data, validate outputs, debug issues, and apply error-handling strategies to ensure workflows behave predictably as they grow in complexity.

Connect APIs and Enhance Workflows with AI

Finally, you’ll connect external apps and APIs using secure credentials and explore event-driven automation. You’ll also learn how to integrate AI and LLMs to classify, summarize, and enrich data, while following best practices for scalability and maintainability.
By the end of this course, you’ll be able to build robust, production-ready automations and confidently decide when automation is the right solution.

Syllabus

  • Getting Started with Workflow Automation
    • Discover how n8n enables visual workflow automation through triggers, nodes, and data flow. This chapter introduces the n8n interface, explores manual and form-based triggers, and demonstrates how to build branching logic, capture user input, and securely connect external apps using credentials. It highlights the core concepts necessary to understand and effectively experiment with automated processes.
  • Building Logic and Structure into Workflows
    • Learn how to shape intelligent, reliable workflows by adding logic, structure, and data quality checks. This chapter explores branching with If and Switch nodes, transforming and cleaning data with expressions or code, validating outputs, and diagnosing failures. It also introduces practical error-handling strategies that keep automations resilient and predictable as they become more complex.
  • APIs and Event-Driven Workflows
    • Explore how to build event-driven, intelligent automations that connect with the outside world. This chapter introduces webhook-based triggers, API-powered data flows, and LLM-driven logic to classify, summarize, and enhance incoming information. You’ll also learn how to design scalable, robust workflows and evaluate when automation is worth implementing for real-world operations.
