GitHub Copilot Fundamentals (GH-300)

Advance your software development career by mastering GitHub Copilot, the AI coding assistant built into your IDE. In this track, you will build the skills needed for GitHub's Copilot certification (GH-300). You'll start by learning how AI-assisted coding works—crafting precise prompts, choosing the right tools, and building responsible workflows—before diving deep into GitHub Copilot itself: autocomplete, inline edits, chat modes, Agent Mode, MCP integrations, and custom instructions. You'll then advance to senior-level techniques including production code analysis, performance optimization, AI-assisted testing, and security vulnerability detection. To ensure you're fully prepared for the exam, the track is supplemented with tutorials covering the full Copilot plan landscape—from Pro to Business to Enterprise—alongside governance controls, data privacy safeguards, content exclusions, and the Copilot CLI. The courses in this track include hands-on exercises where you will practice prompt engineering, refine AI-generated code, and apply Copilot to real-world development scenarios. A grounding in AI ethics is also included, ensuring you can use Copilot responsibly and in line with the exam's requirements on responsible AI use. After completing the track, you will be well-prepared to sit the GH-300 exam and demonstrate that you can leverage GitHub Copilot effectively, ethically, and at scale across the software development lifecycle.
