Double Knitting Fundamentals

Double knitting is exactly what it sounds like – a knitting technique in which the fabric is doubled, where you are knitting both sides of the piece at the same time. It is fun to work for a dense, warm fabric if you are simply doing solid colors, but the real fun comes from knitting colorwork charts! You will wind up with a mirror image on both sides, where on one side you have a dominant color and a contrast color, and on the other you see the same pattern, but the colors are reversed.
