In this course, you will be able to learn about the importance of female leadership in Latin America and the Caribbean for the growth and development of economies, democracies, and societies. It focuses on gender equality as a fundamental pillar for sustainable and inclusive growth in the region.
The Inter-American Development Bank promotes the inclusion and empowerment of women, generating knowledge and tools to foster more inclusive societies.
Through AcademiaBID, the course offers knowledge from experts in leadership, gender, and diversity, providing leadership skills, self-knowledge, emotional intelligence, confidence, resilience, and persuasive communication. It seeks to enhance the professional development of women, strengthening their intra and interpersonal skills to lead transformation processes in the region.
Syllabus
- Module 1: Leadership from a gender perspective
- In this module, we will start by presenting data on how the region is doing in terms of leadership roles with a gender perspective, we present how we interpret it, and we begin to provide the types of leadership that exist.
- Module 2: Self-knowledge for leadership
- In this module, we will address self-knowledge as a fundamental element for women’s leadership, this topic will be accompanied by personal branding as a driver for professional career as well as the relevance of networking.
- Module 3: Emotional Intelligence, Confidence and Resilience
- In this third module, we will focus on three key elements in leadership development, these are emotional intelligence, trust, and resilience.
- Module 4: Persuasive and high-impact communication
- In this last module of the course, the emphasis is on developing skills that allow persuasive and high-impact communication, understanding what persuasion is, its components, and how it is useful for leadership. In addition, strategies for impactful communication in live presentations will be addressed, and finally, strategies for communicating the brand through social media and the elevator pitch.
