The core productivity apps that make up the Google Workspace™ suite enable users to work together on a variety of projects and tasks across many different industries and job roles. This course will teach you how to work efficiently and effectively in apps like Gmail™, Google Drive™, Google Docs™, Google Sheets™, Google Meet™, Google Chat™, and more—all while participating in a collaborative team environment. This course is designed for business users, educators, students, and knowledge workers in a variety of roles and fields who want to be able to use the apps included in Google Workspace to create and manage various types of files and communicate and collaborate with colleagues. Note: Several course activities involve collaboration, so you will need to partner with someone else to complete these activities. Consider asking a friend or colleague to be your partner. Otherwise, you may need to skip the activities that involve collaboration. These activities will have "(Partner Required)" in their titles. In this course, you will: navigate the Google Workspace environment and use Gmail to send and manage email correspondence; manage schedules using Google Calendar™; communicate with colleagues over text, voice, and video using Google Chat and Google Meet; store and share files using Google Drive; collaborate on documents using Google Docs, Google Slides™, and Google Keep™; collaborate on data using Google Sheets and Google Forms™; and collaborate on websites using Google Sites™.

Syllabus

  • Getting Started with Google Workspace
    • In most organizations, people need to communicate in real time and manage files in a collaborative environment. Google Workspaceâ„¢ was created for this purpose. This lesson will familiarize you with the fundamental capabilities of this suite of apps.
  • Managing Schedules Using Google Calendar
    • Now that you've become familiar with a key Google Workspaceâ„¢ app, Gmailâ„¢, you're ready to start managing your schedule using Google Calendarâ„¢. Calendar enables you to stay organized and avoid schedule conflicts.
  • Communicating Using Google Chat and Google Meet
    • Now that you've communicated with colleagues using Gmailâ„¢ and have set up meetings and other events with them using Google Calendarâ„¢, you are ready to use the two primary apps for text-based and video-based communication: Google Chatâ„¢ and Google Meetâ„¢.
  • Storing and Sharing Files Using Google Drive
    • Now that you've used various Google Workspaceâ„¢ apps to communicate with your colleagues, you're ready to use the file storage and file management app that's a crucial part of the suite.
  • Collaborating on Documents Using Docs, Slides, and Keep
    • You have uploaded files to Google Driveâ„¢ and now you're ready to create new ones. Googleâ„¢ makes it simple to create all kinds of files using apps like Google Docsâ„¢, Google Slidesâ„¢, and Google Keepâ„¢. In this lesson, you'll use these apps to create written documents, deliver slideshow presentations, and take notes.
  • Collaborating on Data Using Sheets and Forms
    • You've collaborated on content-driven resources like documents, slideshows, and notes. Now it's time to collaborate on data-driven resources like spreadsheets and surveys. Google Sheetsâ„¢ and Google Forms are the go-to apps for working with data.
  • Collaborating on Websites Using Sites
    • Now that you know how to collaborate with others using common Google Workspaceâ„¢ apps, you are ready to take collaboration one step further and create a site using Google Sitesâ„¢. Google Sites enables you to integrate all of Google's apps in one single location. In this lesson, you will create a site and share it with others.
  • Completing the Course
    • You'll wrap things up and then validate what you've learned in this course by taking an assessment.
