This course covers the heart of the Network+ exam and the foundation of every network: TCP/IP and routing. Covering approximately 4 hours and 1 minute of expert instruction across TCP/IP fundamentals and routing concepts, learners develop a deep understanding of how IP addressing, subnetting, and routing protocols enable inter-network communications. Learners benefit by mastering IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, subnetting and CIDR, NAT, and dynamic routing protocols including OSPF and BGP — knowledge that is directly tested throughout the Network+ exam and applied daily in network administration roles. online labs reinforce IP configuration and routing tasks. By the end of this course, learners will be able to configure IP addressing schemes, implement subnetting, and explain how packets are routed across networks.

Syllabus

  • TCP/IP Basics & IP Addressing
    • This chapter is a guide to IP addressing, covering how addresses, subnetting, ARP, DHCP, and common addressing issues work together to keep networks communicating smoothly.
  • Routing
    • This chapter explores how routers move packets between networks, covering NAT, port forwarding, SOHO setup, enterprise differences, static routes, routing metrics, and major routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and FHRP.
  • Course Assessment
    • Final graded assessment
