In this course, we'll imagine that you are applying for an all-expenses paid, educational trip to a Spanish-speaking nation of your choice. You'll introduce yourself to a host family that you'll be staying with, research the rich culture and history of the place you intend to visit and compare it with your own country, and plan out an itinerary of places you plan to see, and things you plan to do and experience while visiting. In addition, you'll summarize the key points of your written report in an oral presentation. This course is challenging and is meant to test everything you've learned in the Spanish Vocabulary specialization. It will provide you an excellent way in which to test what you know and what you still need to work on in your Spanish learning journey.

Syllabus

Project Overview
- In this module, you will explore the structure, expectations, and key milestones of the Spanish Vocabulary project. You will consider how written and spoken Spanish will be used to present information about yourself and a selected Spanish-speaking country. You will also identify the project components that will guide your work across the remaining modules.
Milestone 1: Introducing Yourself to Your Host Family (1st and Final Draft)
- In this module, you will use familiar Spanish vocabulary and expressions to introduce yourself to a host family. You will describe relevant personal information, interests, routines, and preferences in a clear and organized way. You will also consider how audience and context shape an appropriate written introduction.
Milestone 2: Culture and History of Your Selected Nation (Research, 1st and Final Draft)
- In this module, you will explore the history and culture of your selected Spanish-speaking country. You will examine topics such as political systems, food, entertainment, traditions, arts, and important historical developments. You will also compare aspects of the selected country with your own cultural or regional context and organize the information in Spanish.
Milestone 3: Your Trip Plan (Research, 1st and Final Draft)
- In this module, you will develop a trip plan for your selected Spanish-speaking country. You will describe the places you would like to visit and the experiences or activities you would like to pursue. You will also organize relevant travel information and express your plans clearly in Spanish.
Milestone 4: Final Report and Oral Presentation
- In this module, you will bring together your work on personal introductions, cultural research, and travel planning into a unified report. You will refine the clarity, organization, and grammatical accuracy of your Spanish writing. You will also summarize the main ideas and findings from your report in spoken Spanish.
