Design secure multi-cloud architectures, build disaster recovery plans, and govern enterprise risk programs. Security architecture, data protection, and risk management are foundational to every organization's cloud strategy. This course teaches you to make executive-level security decisions — designing secure infrastructure, building organizational resilience, and governing risk programs that align with international standards. You'll start by designing secure multi-cloud architectures across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models using Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB), and encrypted transport protocols. From there, you'll build data protection frameworks across all data states, configure Data Loss Prevention (DLP) controls, and create resilient disaster recovery plans with defined RTO, RPO, and 3-2-1 backup strategies. The course then moves to governance — aligning security programs with frameworks like NIST CSF and ISO 27001 and regulatory standards including GDPR and PCI-DSS. You'll define organizational roles, board oversight structures, and compliance monitoring processes. Finally, you'll conduct quantitative risk assessments, calculating Single Loss Expectancy (SLE) and Annualized Loss Expectancy (ALE) to evaluate business exposure. Every module features a strategic C-level role-play with an AI security executive, giving you practice making data-driven decisions in realistic leadership scenarios. Who this is for: Security architects, IT compliance managers, and senior engineers preparing to design secure cloud infrastructures, manage enterprise risk, and align programs with governance frameworks.

Syllabus

  • Secure Infrastructure & Cloud Architecture
    • This module examines architectural models, cloud deployment models (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS), secure network infrastructure design, edge computing, zero-trust network access (ZTNA), and secure communication protocols.
  • Data Protection & Resilience
    • This module covers data classification, data states (at-rest, in-transit, in-use), data loss prevention (DLP), business continuity, disaster recovery strategies, platform diversity, and hands-on data-at-rest encryption labs.
  • Security Program & Governance
    • This module focuses on security governance frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001), regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS), security policies/standards, organizational roles/responsibilities, and continuous policy revisions.
  • Risk Assessment & Management
    • This module explores risk identification, qualitative vs. quantitative risk analysis (SLE, ALE, ARO), risk response strategies (mitigate, transfer, avoid, accept), Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), and enterprise risk tolerance.
