Secure and Tune OAS Models

Overview

Are governance gaps costing your BI team more time than insight delivery? This Short Course was created to help Business Intelligence professionals accomplish governed RPD modeling, compliant security enforcement, and performance optimization in Oracle Analytics Server. By completing this course, you'll build production-ready semantic models, lock down role-based access across environments, and tune dashboards to hit enterprise throughput benchmarks — skills applicable the next day at work. By the end of this course, you will be able to: Create and validate a governed three-layer RPD model (Create); Analyze and enforce object- and row-level security policies across Dev, Test, and Prod (Analyze); Evaluate platform performance using query logs, cache seeding, and aggregate persistence (Evaluate). This course is unique because it follows the full OAS governance lifecycle using Oracle's native toolset. To be successful, you should have a background in OAS fundamentals and enterprise data modeling at a CB3 senior level.

Syllabus

Building a Governed Three-Layer RPD Model

You will design, configure, and validate a governed three-layer RPD model in Oracle Analytics Server, covering physical joins, logical calculations, and presentation hierarchies to standardize enterprise subject areas.

Enforcing Object-Level and Row-Level Security Policies

You will analyze and enforce object-level and row-level security policies within the OAS RPD and catalog, validating compliant role matrix enforcement across Dev, Test, and Production environments.

Evaluating Platform Performance Through Query Analysis and Optimization

You will evaluate OAS platform performance by interpreting query logs, configuring query caching, and applying aggregate persistence to certify that dashboards and scheduled Publisher reports meet the 95th-percentile throughput threshold.
