  • Introduction
    • This module introduces the course's purpose, structure, and unique approach to learning research methodology and statistics. Learners will discover how to navigate the course effectively and understand the motivations behind its design. The module aims to foster curiosity and engagement from the outset.
  • Research in Psychology: Objectives and Ideals
    • This module introduces the foundational aims and guiding principles of psychological research, emphasizing how scientific inquiry advances our understanding of mental processes and behavior. Learners will examine the progression of psychological science, the development of theories, and the criteria for conducting rigorous and ethical research.
  • Research Methods
    • This module introduces the foundational methods used in psychological research, including experimental, quasi-experimental, survey, and case study approaches. Learners will explore the purposes, strengths, and limitations of each method, and gain insight into how psychological measurements are conducted and interpreted.
  • Experimental Design
    • This module guides learners through the essential steps of designing psychological experiments, including selecting variables, operationalizing concepts, and choosing appropriate samples. It also addresses how to recognize and mitigate threats to both internal and external validity, ensuring robust and interpretable research findings.
  • Survey Design
    • This module introduces the fundamentals of survey methodology, including the distinctions between surveys and experiments, key elements of survey design, and various types of survey methods. Learners will gain practical skills in constructing effective questionnaires and conducting research using online survey tools. The module also highlights important considerations for selecting appropriate survey strategies in psychological research.
