Learners will also explore the importance of professional conduct, both in-person and online, and examine real-world scenarios to enhance critical thinking skills.
  • Interpersonal relationships
    • This module delves into the essential skills and values required for effective interpersonal relationships in nursing, including communication, self-reflection, and professional conduct. Learners will explore the 6Cs, the NMC Code, and models like the Johari Window to enhance self-awareness and patient care. Emphasis is placed on maintaining safety, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Communication in diverse settings
    • This module explores effective communication strategies across a variety of healthcare environments, including inpatient, community-based, telehealth, prison, supported living, and care home settings. Learners will examine the NMC standards for nursing associates and apply communication techniques tailored to each unique context. Emphasis is placed on adapting approaches to meet the needs of diverse patient populations and settings.
  • Challenges to effective communication in clinical practice
    • This module examines the complexities of communication in clinical practice, focusing on managing aggression, fostering empathy, and supporting patients and families through grief and end-of-life situations.   • Inclusive communication
    • This module examines the principles of inclusive communication in healthcare, focusing on understanding protected characteristics, recognizing different types of discrimination, and addressing biases. Learners will explore strategies to communicate effectively and equitably with diverse groups, including LGBTQIA+ and minoritised communities.
  • Communicating with patients who have specialist requirements
    • This module introduces effective communication strategies for interacting with patients who have sensory or physical impairments. Learners will explore inclusive practices, such as using sign language, understanding Braille, and adapting communication for individuals with hearing loss or laryngectomies. Practical guidance is provided for real-world care planning and advocacy in diverse healthcare settings.
  • Assessment and support in clinical practice for the nursing associate role
    • This module delves into effective leadership, role modeling, and decision-making strategies essential for nursing associates in clinical practice. Learners will explore the NMC standards, reflect on supervisory skills, and practice shared decision-making to enhance patient care and professional development.
  • Finding your own voice
    • This module explores various leadership styles, including bureaucratic and transactional approaches, and examines how they align with professional nursing standards. Learners will also investigate effective delegation practices and the impact of cognitive biases like the Dunning-Kruger effect on leadership and decision-making.
