Syllabus
- Module 1: Step Into Project Management: Your First Look
- Before you can confidently step into the role of a project manager, you need to understand what the job actually entails. Module 1 is all about exploration—exploring what a project manager does, assessing your own strengths, and seeing how this role fits into your career path. You’ll dive into real-world scenarios, seeing firsthand how project managers communicate, plan, and guide teams toward a shared goal. This isn’t just passive learning—you’ll reflect on your problem-solving abilities and leadership style to identify where you naturally excel and where you want to grow. Your first deliverable is a self-assessment and reflection exercise that will help you gain clarity on your skills and aspirations. Project management is more than just a title—it’s a skill set that helps people lead teams, deliver results, and create order out of complexity. Whether you’re considering a career in project management or just want to develop these skills, this is your opportunity to take that first step. Let’s get started!
- Module 2: Your First 30 Days: Meeting the Team & Setting the Vision
- You got the job—now what? In Module 2, you’ll step into your role as Project Manager and tackle your first major responsibility: defining the project through a Project Charter. This is where planning begins, and where you turn a vision into a structured plan that stakeholders can align on. You’ll gather key information, clarify objectives, identify stakeholders, and outline the scope of Project Phoenix. But you won’t be doing this in isolation—you’ll review real stakeholder communications, analyze past project lessons, and make decisions just like a real project manager would. By the end of this module, you’ll have a well-structured Project Charter that sets the foundation for the work ahead. Get ready to take ownership and start shaping this project from the ground up!
- Module 3: Planning the Steps to Success
- With the Project Charter in place, it’s time to figure out how the work will actually get done. In Module 3, you’ll move from high-level planning into structuring the project’s execution. You’ll start by breaking the project into manageable pieces using a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), then identify task dependencies and map out the critical path to ensure everything runs smoothly. But project planning isn’t just about structure—it’s also about adaptability. You’ll explore hybrid project management, learning how to balance predictive planning with flexible iteration cycles. As the project moves forward, you’ll organize sprints, set release milestones, and define a roadmap that blends structured planning with real-world agility. By the end of this module, you’ll have a clear execution strategy that will guide Project Phoenix from concept to completion.

It’s well-structured and easy to follow, making it ideal for beginners or anyone new to managing projects.
The course offers good foundational knowledge but doesn’t go deeply into advanced tools or certification preparation.
A great starting point to understand project workflows and build confidence before moving to more advanced PM training.
Overall, it’s a concise, well-designed, and useful course for anyone exploring project management fundamentals. -
This course gave me a hands-on experience in project management through Project Phoenix. The parts I enjoyed most were building the WBS, network diagrams, critical paths, and hybrid roadmaps, which helped me see how projects are planned and managed in real life.
My biggest takeaway is learning how predictive and adaptive planning can work together to keep projects on track while staying flexible.
Next, I plan to apply these skills in my job and personal projects, using what I’ve learned to organize tasks, coordinate teams, and manage timelines. I’m also considering taking another course to deepen my project management knowledge. -
