Syllabus

  • The Product Owner in Scrum
    • In this module, we will explore why the Product Owner accountability exists and its purpose within a Scrum Team. We will discuss several antipatterns that inhibit a Product Owner from being effective and successful.
  • Vision
    • In Module 1, we introduced the 3 Vs of vision, value and validation as the core elements to effective Product Ownership. In this module, we will explore the first element of vision.
  • Value
    • In this module, we will explore how vision sets the foundation for the second core element of Product Ownership, which is value. Once a product vision is established, the next question is, “How is it used to deliver value?”
  • Managing Value
    • In this module we will explore the ongoing process of discovering and delivering value through Product Backlog management and Evidence-Based Management™.
  • Validation
    • In the first four modules, we explored how to craft a compelling product vision, set outcome-oriented Product Goals, pursue value through experimentation and manage the Product Backlog. All these steps are in pursuit of fulfilling the Product Owner accountability: maximizing value. In this module we will discuss how the Scrum framework enables a Product Owner to work collaboratively with the other Scrum Team members and stakeholders to continuously validate and improve their product.
  • Bonus: Frequently Asked Questions
    • This module contains frequently asked questions and answers that align with the Scrum Guide and Professional Scrum about the Product Owner accountability.
