Syllabus

  • Welcome!
    • In this module, we will set the stage for your learning experience by introducing the course’s structure, outlining what to expect, and showcasing the real-world benefits of completing the course. This brief but essential introduction ensures you’re oriented and motivated right from the start.
  • Introduction to Social Engineering
    • In this module, we will explore the fundamentals of social engineering, starting with the key terminology and overview of the field. You’ll also gain insight into its historical development, how it is employed in modern contexts, and the various attack vectors that make social engineering such a powerful tool for cyber threats.
  • Attack Vectors
    • In this module, we will dive into the most common social engineering attack vectors, including email phishing, phone phishing, baiting, tailgating, and physical pretexting. You will learn how these tactics are executed and the risks they pose to both individuals and organizations.
  • Methodology
    • In this module, we will break down the methodology behind social engineering attacks, starting with preparation and planning, including the strategic kill chain. We’ll then explore how these elements come together in the execution of a successful attack.
  • Information Gathering
    • In this module, we will explore the critical phase of information gathering, covering both non-technical and technical methods. You’ll also learn how to use tools like Maltego and Metagoofil to collect and analyze data for potential exploitation in social engineering attacks.
  • Psychology & Manipulation
    • In this module, we will explore the psychological tactics used in social engineering, focusing on influencing and elicitation. You will learn how attackers manipulate individuals' behaviors and responses to gather information or gain unauthorized access.
  • Non-verbal Communication
    • In this module, we will delve into the importance of non-verbal communication, focusing on micro expressions and body language. You’ll learn how these subtle cues can be leveraged to read and influence individuals during social engineering encounters.
