Syllabus

  • Introduction to Network Infrastructure
    • In this module, we will introduce the foundational concepts of networking infrastructure, including local area networks, virtual LANs, wide area networks, and wireless technologies. Learners will understand the components, types, and key standards used to build and secure a network. Practical demonstrations will also be provided to help apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.
  • Introduction to Network Hardware
    • In this module, we will explore the essential network hardware components that form the backbone of network infrastructure. From switches and routers to cables and connectors, learners will understand the role each piece of hardware plays in creating and managing networks. Practical guidance will also be provided on building a basic local area network (LAN) using these components.
  • Protocols, Services, and Addressing
    • In this module, we will dive into networking protocols, services, and addressing systems. Learners will gain an understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP models, along with the structure and function of IPv4 and IPv6 addressing. We will also explore key network services like DNS and DHCP, and cover essential protocols and ports necessary for network communication.
  • Commands, Tools, and Utilities
    • In this module, we will introduce a range of network troubleshooting tools and commands essential for network maintenance and diagnostics. Learners will gain hands-on experience using utilities such as ipconfig, ping, tracert, pathping, nslookup, and netstat to identify and resolve common network issues. Additionally, we will explore helpful Windows tools that can aid in effective network troubleshooting.
