Syllabus

  • Introduction
    • In this module, we will introduce the course and set the stage for learning Microsoft Azure as a .NET developer. We will explore the course goals, key topics such as cloud hosting models and Azure Resource Manager, and understand how the course will help enhance your cloud development skills.
  • Get Started with Microsoft Azure
    • In this module, we will lay the foundation for working with Microsoft Azure. We will explore what Azure is, its benefits, and how it supports cloud-based development. You’ll also learn how to set up an account, navigate the Azure portal, and understand different cloud hosting models to make informed decisions as a .NET developer.
  • Azure Resource Manager
    • In this module, we will explore Azure Resource Manager (ARM), the centralized management service for Azure resources. We will learn how to provision and manage resources using different tools, including the Azure portal, PowerShell, and CLI. By the end of this module, you'll have hands-on experience with efficient resource management in Azure.
  • Azure App Service
    • In this module, we will dive into Azure App Service, a fully managed platform for hosting web applications. We will cover deployment strategies, auto-scaling, authentication, and monitoring features. By the end, you will be able to deploy, secure, and optimize web applications in Azure.
  • Azure SQL
    • In this module, we will explore Azure SQL, a fully managed relational database service. We will learn how to create and configure SQL databases, connect them to .NET applications, and implement best practices for security and performance.
  • Azure Cosmos DB
    • In this module, we will explore Azure Cosmos DB, a globally distributed NoSQL database service. We will learn about different data models, create and manage containers, and integrate Cosmos DB into .NET applications for high-performance cloud-based storage solutions.
  • Azure Storage Accounts
    • In this module, we will explore Azure Storage, a scalable cloud storage solution for managing data. We will cover Blob storage for files, Table storage for NoSQL data, and Queue storage for message handling. Learn how to integrate storage services into your .NET applications effectively.
  • Azure Service Bus
    • In this module, we will explore Azure Service Bus, a messaging service that enables reliable and scalable communication between applications. We will learn how to work with queues, topics, and subscriptions to implement robust message-based architectures in .NET applications.
  • Azure Functions (Serverless Solutions)
    • In this module, we will explore Azure Functions, a serverless computing platform for building event-driven applications. We will learn how to create and deploy functions, integrate them with other Azure services, and manage stateful workflows using Durable Functions.
  • Azure Virtual Machines
    • In this module, we will explore Azure Virtual Machines, an IaaS solution for running cloud-based applications. We will learn how to create, configure, and manage VMs using different tools and deployment strategies.
  • Azure Containers
    • In this module, we will explore containerization using Azure services. We will learn how to create and manage containerized applications with Docker, deploy them using Azure Container Instances, and orchestrate them with Kubernetes for scalable and efficient cloud solutions.
  • Microsoft Azure Active Directory
    • In this module, we will explore Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), a cloud-based identity management service. We will learn how to set up authentication and authorization for applications, register applications in Azure AD, and integrate Azure AD B2C for external user access.
  • Conclusion
    • In this module, we will summarize the key takeaways from the course, highlighting essential Azure services and best practices for .NET developers. We will also discuss further learning paths and how to apply your new skills to real-world cloud applications.
