Explore the landscape of machine learning algorithms, from unsupervised and supervised learning to the fundamentals of neural networks and natural language processing. Gain practical insights into how these algorithms are applied to solve complex data-driven problems. This course covers a wide range of machine learning algorithms, including clustering, association analysis, decision trees, ensemble methods, logistic and linear regression, and foundational neural network architectures. Learners will also be introduced to natural language processing techniques and sequential models such as RNNs and LSTMs. By mastering these algorithms, participants will be equipped to tackle classification, regression, and sequence modeling tasks across various domains. The course combines conceptual explanations with practical case studies and real-world applications, enabling learners to understand both the theory and implementation of machine learning algorithms. Emphasis is placed on developing intuition for algorithm selection and understanding the strengths and limitations of each approach. This course is part two of a three-course Specialization designed to build a complete and cohesive understanding of the subject. While it offers valuable skills on its own, you'll gain the most benefit by progressing through all three courses as a structured learning journey. This course is based on 50 Algorithms Every Programmer Should Know, by Imran Ahmad. Packt is one of the world's most prolific publishers of cutting-edge technical content. Syllabus

  • Unsupervised Machine Learning Algorithms
    • This module covers key unsupervised machine learning techniques including clustering algorithms like k-means and DBSCAN, hierarchical clustering, and association rule mining using Apriori and FP-growth. Learners will gain practical skills in applying these methods to real-world data problems such as market segmentation and pattern discovery.
  • Traditional Supervised Learning Algorithms
    • This module introduces learners to traditional supervised machine learning algorithms, covering classification, regression, and evaluation techniques. It explains key concepts like feature engineering, model performance metrics, and algorithm implementation using tools like XGBoost and Random Forest. Learners will gain practical insights into choosing and applying the right algorithm for different problem types.
  • Neural Network Algorithms
    • This module introduces the fundamental concepts of neural networks, including perceptrons, layered architectures, training methods, and activation functions. Learners will explore how to implement neural networks using Keras and understand the importance of transfer learning in real-world applications.
  • Algorithms for Natural Language Processing
    • This module provides an in-depth exploration of natural language processing (NLP) techniques, including text preprocessing, data cleaning, and word embeddings. Learners will gain practical skills in transforming raw text into structured data and understanding the advantages and limitations of key NLP models. The content covers both foundational concepts and real-world implementation strategies.
  • Understanding Sequential Models
    • This module provides an in-depth exploration of sequential models used in machine learning, focusing on RNNs, GRUs, and LSTMs. Learners will gain an understanding of how these models process sequential data, including data representation and training mechanisms like backpropagation through time. The module also covers practical applications, such as sentiment analysis using LSTMs.
