Syllabus

  • Introduction to Networking
    • This module introduces foundational networking concepts, including network models, key protocols, and essential devices such as switches and routers. Learners will explore the OSI and TCP/IP models, understand the roles of various network layers, and examine basic network security mechanisms. By the end, you'll be equipped with the core knowledge needed for entry-level networking roles and certifications.
  • Getting Started with Cisco IOS Devices
    • This module introduces learners to the foundational skills needed to operate and secure Cisco IOS devices. You will explore device access methods, navigate the IOS interface, and perform essential configurations such as setting IP addresses and enabling secure remote access. Hands-on practice with Cisco Packet Tracer will reinforce your understanding of device management and security.
  • Network Architectures and Physical Infrastructure
    • This module introduces key network architectures, including spine-leaf, wide area, on-premises, and cloud-based designs, as well as the fundamentals of physical infrastructure such as cabling and interfaces. Learners will gain practical skills in identifying and troubleshooting common network and cabling issues. By the end, you will understand how modern networks are structured and maintained.
  • IPv4 and IPv6 Addresses
    • This module introduces the structure, function, and management of IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, including their headers and address classes. Learners will practice converting between decimal and binary formats, explore coexistence strategies, and configure IPv6 on Cisco routers. By the end, you'll be able to distinguish key differences and apply foundational networking skills.
  • Practical Subnetting
    • This module guides learners through the fundamentals and practical applications of subnetting in IPv4 networks. You will explore how to configure subnet masks, identify network IDs, create and assign subnets, and perform variable-length subnet masking (VLSM) for efficient IP address allocation. By the end, you'll be able to design and implement subnetting strategies for real-world network scenarios.
  • Wireless Architectures and Virtualization
    • This module explores the fundamentals of wireless networking, including key IEEE 802.11 standards, essential wireless components, and operational concepts such as network topologies and client association. Learners will also be introduced to virtualization and its role in modern network architectures. By the end, you will understand how wireless and virtualized environments support today's mobile and organizational needs.
