This course features Coursera Coach! A smarter way to learn with interactive, real-time conversations that help you test your knowledge, challenge assumptions, and deepen your understanding as you progress through the course. In this course, you’ll dive deep into the final stages of modeling a complete cookie factory scene in Blender. As you work through advanced techniques, you’ll model intricate mechanical parts, animate dynamic movements, and apply realistic shaders to bring your factory to life. By mastering both modeling and animation, you'll be able to showcase your factory in full motion. You'll begin by refining key components, such as a cookie packing machine, box maker, and claw machine. These pieces will be modeled with attention to detail, including adding functional elements like levers, gears, and hinges. As you move through the course, you'll focus on ensuring everything fits together seamlessly in a dynamic environment. The course continues by exploring animation and lighting techniques, where you’ll simulate realistic machine movements and apply proper lighting sources to create an immersive scene. The final lessons teach you how to perfect your render using Blender's compositor, ensuring your cookie factory looks polished and professional. This course is perfect for intermediate Blender users looking to refine their skills in modeling, animation, and scene composition. No prior knowledge is required beyond basic Blender usage. By the end of the course, you will be able to model, animate, and render a complete working factory scene, complete with realistic lighting, textures, and motion.

Syllabus

  • Modeling Cookie Packing Machine and Adding Packing Stomper, More in Blender
    • In this module, we will work on animating temperature fluctuations in the bakery, texturing chocolate chip cookies, and optimizing your project for better performance. Additionally, you’ll set up the camera composition and continue refining the box maker to prepare for the packaging process.
  • Working on Applying Shaders, Creating Shader, and Creating Animation Motion
    • In this module, we will focus on adding smaller details to the box maker, such as hinges and levers, while continuing to refine the mechanical components. You’ll also animate the box maker's movements and work on the packaging process, including modeling the packing machine and creating varied cookie packaging.
  • Adding Vault Door to the Top of Our Claw Machine, Modeling All Parts
    • In this module, we will add and refine the packing stomper within the claw machine structure, paying close attention to its fit and functionality. You’ll also model the pulley system, gear belts, and light bulbs, applying shaders to enhance realism in your factory setup.
  • Making the Boxes and Its Placement Seem More Believable and Adding Shaders
    • In this module, we will animate the boxing machine and its parts to simulate packaging movements. You will also animate the light bulb’s color change, model supports and the claw machine frame, and finalize the claw machine by adding a vault door at the top.
  • Working on Glass and Final Placements of Our Cookie Factory
    • In this module, we will focus on refining the claw machine by modeling its entrance, control mechanisms, and claw hand. You will also adjust the claw’s shape to ensure it fits the present boxes and finalize the placement of all elements in your cookie factory for a realistic and cohesive scene.
  • Working with Lighting Sources, Working on Animating Claw Machine
    • In this module, we will focus on applying shaders to the claw to create realistic materials and lighting effects. You will also set up the lighting sources to enhance the atmosphere and animate the claw machine’s movements for dynamic realism.
  • Camera Turntable Basics, Working with Compositor Add-On to Adjust Our Render
    • In this module, we will refine the glass elements of the claw machine, finalize the placement of all factory components, and learn how to use the camera turntable for efficient scene composition. You’ll also explore the compositor add-on to enhance your render’s quality with color correction, denoising, and sharpening effects.
