    • In this section, we reframe notes as tools, compare paper, index cards and digital media, and practise dynamic working notes that strengthen memory, deepen research and spur creative planning.
  • Make Short Notes
    • In this section, we capture single-concept digital notes, sort transient jottings from evergreen knowledge, and craft clear titles to build an organized repository that supports future retrieval and insight.
  • Connect Your Notes
    • In this section, we craft atomic notes, link them using wikilinks and bidirectional references, analyze graph views, and harness emergent hypertext structures to surface unexpected relationships and deepen practical understanding.
  • Plan for a Knowledge Garden
    • In this section, we will explore how making note taking a part of a system can be beneficial. We also look at the concept of a Knowledge Garden and go through the process of designing and creating one.
  • Don't Let Ideas Get Away
    • In this section, we design frictionless capture workflows, pairing notebooks, apps, or voice memos with context to secure fleeting ideas. Templates structure notes, boosting recall and creativity.
  • Put Everything in Its Right Place
    • In this section, we build container-based note systems, apply PARA and LATCH frameworks, refine filing and tagging taxonomies, and assess capture-to-retrieval workflows to ensure future you retrieves knowledge effortlessly.
  • Spark Insights
    • In this section, we detect patterns within notes, model them systematically, and use mind maps plus reframing techniques to surface latent connections, generating repeatable insights for problem-solving and research.

    • In this section, we model ideas, plan an end-to-end publication workflow, apply audience analysis, and integrate iterative feedback loops to evolve private notes into rigorous, reader-focused publishable artifacts.

    • In this section, we explore disciplined meta-work, note upkeep, and interoperable tools that avoid lock-in, automate workflows, and keep gardens resilient, practicing maintenance habits and upgrade planning for sustainable systems.
  • Think with Other Minds
    • In this section, we craft equitable human-AI workflows for collaborative capture, ideation, and gardening, assess AI as editor, ghostwriter, amanuensis, and enforce rigorous attribution to sustain reliable shared knowledge.
