You’ll discover how to design highly available, scalable, and resilient applications with minimal operational overhead, using the latest AWS technologies to simplify your cloud infrastructure. This course is ideal for developers and cloud architects looking to leverage AWS’s serverless and edge services for building modern applications. If you're comfortable with basic cloud concepts and AWS, this intermediate-level course will expand your knowledge of AWS integrations, analytics, serverless architectures, and edge networking. By the end of the course, you will be able to integrate AWS services, build serverless applications using Lambda and API Gateway, design scalable event-driven architectures, and optimize application delivery with CloudFront and Route 53.

Syllabus

  • Application Integration
    • In this module, we will introduce you to AWS's application integration services, focusing on Amazon SQS, SNS, and EventBridge. You will learn to set up queues, handle messages, and leverage event-driven architectures to improve your applications’ scalability and responsiveness. The hands-on labs will demonstrate real-world use cases for integrating services with AWS.
  • Analytics on AWS
    • In this module, we will delve into AWS's powerful data analytics services, including Kinesis, Glue, Athena, and Redshift. You’ll gain hands-on experience streaming real-time data, performing ETL operations, and running interactive queries for insightful data analysis. Additionally, we’ll explore Amazon QuickSight for visualizing your results with ease.
  • Serverless Architectures on AWS
    • In this module, we will guide you through building serverless applications on AWS using Lambda, API Gateway, and Step Functions. You’ll learn how to design serverless architectures, execute Lambda functions efficiently, and create scalable workflows. The hands-on lab will help you build a complete serverless application that can scale automatically with demand.
  • AWS Networking Part 2 - Amazon CloudFront and Route53
    • In this module, we will explore Amazon CloudFront and Route 53, focusing on optimizing content delivery and managing DNS with advanced routing techniques. You’ll learn how to configure CloudFront distributions for faster content delivery and utilize Route 53 for routing traffic efficiently across regions. We’ll also explore AWS Global Accelerator and Lambda@Edge for further improving application performance.
  • Capstone Project 3 - Ritual Roast Serverless Application
    • In this final capstone project, you’ll apply your knowledge of serverless technologies to create a fully functional web application for Ritual Roast. Using AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway, you will build a scalable, event-driven application. By the end of this module, you will have deployed a serverless web app with low-latency content delivery via CloudFront and secure access through IAM roles.
