This course is ideal for intermediate Blender users, aspiring 3D artists, and game environment designers who want to build cinematic worlds with high visual fidelity. A solid understanding of Blender’s interface and basic modeling is recommended, though no prior experience in kitbashing is required. By the end of the course, you will be able to create modular, optimized, and visually rich 3D environments using Blender—from props to complete architectural scenes ready for games, animation, or cinematic production.

Syllabus

  • Creating and Texturing Props
    • In this module, we will dive into the foundational elements of the Aztec environment by modeling and texturing key architectural props. From windows to stone and bamboo bridges, you'll build assets that define the city's character. You'll also utilize Geometry Nodes to add rich detail to surfaces, ensuring both realism and efficiency.
  • Finalizing the Prop Pack
    • In this module, we will focus on expanding and refining the prop collection for the Aztec scene. You'll create culturally inspired props like vases, barrels, and decorative items while learning techniques to streamline modeling. The section ends with texturing all assets for a unified, polished look.
  • Animating and Enhancing Water Features
    • In this module, we will create and enhance water elements that breathe life into the Aztec city. You'll work on swimming pools, fountains, and water shaders while learning to manage UVs and complete the prop pack. The goal is to deliver dynamic, realistic water-based components.
  • Developing the Temple Interior and Pool Area
    • In this module, we will refine the temple’s interior and pool areas, focusing on water simulation and shader animation. You'll design cascading waterfalls and animated effects to enhance immersion. Technical fixes using Geometry Nodes are also addressed to ensure stability in the scene.
  • Detailing the Aztec Architecture

  • Large Market and Warehouse Construction
    • In this module, we will begin constructing large market structures and warehouses essential to the Aztec city. You'll create stalls, cloth canopies, and market buildings using both hard surface and sculpting techniques. Final touches ensure full integration into the environment.
  • Detailing and Texturing Market Elements
    • In this module, we will add detailed architectural and decorative features to the market district. From doorway arches to large warehouse structures, each asset is designed and textured for realism. You'll also improve functionality through thoughtful design and layout.
  • Enhancing the Market Area
    • In this module, we will polish the market area by adding simulated cloth overhangs, texture details, and final prop placements. You'll replace placeholder blocks with finished models and reinforce structures using additional elements like pillars for authenticity.
  • Suspension Bridges and Structural Refinements
    • In this module, we will fine-tune major architectural components including bridges, towers, and market details. You'll adjust kitbash blocks and ensure structural coherence across the scene, enriching the layout with thoughtful prop placement and design consistency.
  • Detailing and Texturing the Temple Entrance

    • In this module, we will build, detail, and place rooftops across the Aztec city. You'll design decorative rooftop elements, use radial symmetry techniques, and ensure all rooftops are placed with proper alignment and architectural intent.
  • Torch and Fire Elements Creation
    • In this module, we will wrap up the Aztec scene with essential finishing touches. You'll place rooftop assets, integrate plant pots, and use Boolean tools for detailed cutouts. These final additions elevate the scene’s immersion and completeness.
