This course features Coursera Coach! A smarter way to learn with interactive, real-time conversations that help you test your knowledge, challenge assumptions, and deepen your understanding as you progress through the course. In this course, you'll master the process of exporting and integrating 3D assets from Blender into Unreal Engine 5 (UE5). Learn how to seamlessly export your models, set up scenes, and apply materials in UE5 to create realistic game environments. By the end, you’ll have the skills to efficiently integrate 3D models into UE5 and optimize them for interactive experiences. The course begins by covering the basics of exporting from Blender, including the GLTF format and an introduction to the UE5 interface. You’ll learn how to navigate the UE5 viewport controls and set up your first scene, focusing on lighting, terrain, and water. With hands-on lessons, you'll refine your assets and reimport them into UE5 for further optimization and integration into your game environments. You'll dive deeper into materials in UE5, learning how to create and modify materials, including advanced techniques like landscape displacement and Nanite materials for high-fidelity detail. With lessons on Quixel assets and foliage, you will enhance your environment with realistic props and natural elements, bringing your scene to life. Finally, you'll explore post-processing and color grading to fine-tune the look and feel of your final render. This course is designed for those familiar with 3D modeling and looking to integrate their assets into Unreal Engine 5. A basic understanding of Blender and UE5 is recommended, and the course will provide hands-on experience with all key aspects of asset export, integration, and scene creation.

    • In this module, we will guide you through the process of exporting your Blender assets to Unreal Engine 5, starting with the GLTF export format. You’ll also get an introduction to Unreal Engine 5’s interface and viewport controls, ensuring you can efficiently bring your models into the engine for further development.
  • UE5 Scene Setup
    • In this module, we will cover the basics of scene lighting in Unreal Engine 5, ensuring your assets are illuminated for maximum effect. You will also learn how to set up terrain and water elements, followed by adjustments to water color for added realism, creating a more lifelike environment in UE5.
  • Asset Integration and Materials in UE5
    • In this module, we will guide you through the process of importing and organizing your assets in Unreal Engine 5, followed by material creation and application. You’ll also learn how to fine-tune your assets, such as roof thatching, for a polished and realistic look in the engine.
  • Environment and Landscape
    • In this module, we will explore the planning and tools required to create and modify landscapes in Unreal Engine 5. You’ll learn to make detailed landscape adjustments and apply displacement techniques to enhance realism. By the end, you will have the skills to craft dynamic and immersive environments.
  • Advanced Landscape Materials
    • In this module, we will dive into creating advanced landscape materials in Unreal Engine 5, including techniques to fix material scale and color. You’ll also learn how to utilize distance-based blending and Nanite tessellation to improve the visual quality and performance of your landscapes.
  • Finishing Touches and Lighting
    • In this module, we will focus on adding the finishing touches to your scene, including painting in stone materials and creating puddles for added realism. You’ll also learn how to tweak lighting parameters to perfect the atmosphere and bring your environment to life in Unreal Engine 5.
  • Quixel Assets and Foliage
    • In this module, we will teach you how to effectively incorporate Quixel assets into your Unreal Engine 5 project, from selecting props to strategically placing them within your environment. You'll also learn how to fine-tune materials, like fences and rope, for a polished and unified look in your scene.
  • Foliage and Asset Tweaking
    • In this module, we will focus on using UE5’s Foliage Mode to place trees and vegetation with precision. You’ll also learn how to adjust foliage values, ensuring your landscape looks natural and vibrant, while maintaining performance within the engine.
  • Post Processing and Final Render
    • In this module, we will focus on tweaking material parameters to refine your assets' appearance and achieve a polished look. You’ll also explore Unreal Engine 5’s post-processing and color grading tools to give your scene the perfect cinematic finish before the final render.
