Meetings, instruction, training, and pitches are all part of our daily lives. We are often called upon to deliver presentations with little notice, at multiple venues, and with varying requirements. And, some of these presentations include sensitive information that needs to be guarded. Given all the variables, it may seem an overwhelming task to deliver your content on time, to all audiences, and to only those who need to see it. Oh, and by the way, you need to make it interesting, informative, and memorable. So, how do you do it? Without the help of a robust set of tools, it would be nearly impossible. But Microsoft® PowerPoint® 2021 provides you with a variety of such tools that can help you deliver content in nearly any situation, while saving time and effort. By taking advantage of these tools, you will be creating presentations that not only stand out from the crowd, but also don't consume all your available time. This material will benefit users of any current Office version. The course environment setup is based on Office 2021. This course covers Microsoft Office Specialist Program exam objectives to help you prepare for the PowerPoint Associate (Office 365 and Office 2019): Exam MO-300. This course is intended for students who have a foundational working knowledge of PowerPoint 2021 and wish to take advantage of the application's higher-level usability, security, collaboration, and distribution functionality. In this course, you will: customize design templates, add tables, add charts, work with media, build advanced transitions and animations, finalize a presentation, modify presentation navigation, and secure and distribute a presentation. This course requires that you have Microsoft PowerPoint installed on a Windows PC. The course setup instructions provided in the first module of the course go into more detail about the hardware and software requirements.

Syllabus

  • Customizing Design Templates
    • Having worked with Microsoft® PowerPoint® 2021, you have likely experienced how templates and themes can help you create engaging, professional-looking presentations with a consistent look throughout. But, you may also have experienced the frustration of not having just the right template or theme available for a particular project.
  • Adding Tables
    • People commonly use Microsoft® PowerPoint® 2021 to create presentations for work meetings and other business-related purposes. It is likely that you will give a presentation that will contain sales figures, budgetary information, or other financial data. Or, perhaps you will need to give a presentation containing scientific data related to a study. When given the task of presenting financial information and other data in a presentation, you will need a way to display the information to the audience without endless slides of figure-dense content.
  • Adding Charts
    • You typically don't have the time available during a presentation for people to analyze complex tables. And, quite frankly, that can make for a boring presentation. You need a way to quickly show the audience members why all of this information matters to them. Microsoft® PowerPoint® 2021 provides you with the ability to create eye-catching charts that show the meaning behind complex strings of data.
  • Working with Media
    • Multimedia content surrounds us almost constantly. To an extent, this has increased the expectation among audiences for some type of sophisticated, multimedia experience during presentations. This means you may be called upon to add audio, video, and other media content to your presentations. Microsoft® PowerPoint® 2021 provides you with robust capabilities for adding, editing, and customizing audio, video, and screen recordings.
  • Building Advanced Transitions and Animations
    • Graphics, tables, and charts can help you convey your message visually. Sometimes you need even more visual emphasis at certain points in your presentation. Using animations and transitions in Microsoft® PowerPoint® 2021 can add energy and excitement to a presentation.
  • Finalizing a Presentation
    • To finalize a presentation, you often need to collaborate with others. You also need to determine what kind of presentation delivery will be required so you can modify the file to best meet those needs. Presentations are sometimes delivered in real time, with the presenter annotating the slides to emphasize key ideas and managing the transitions. But other times you need to be able to have the presentation stand on its own, with recorded narration and timed transitions.
  • Modifying Presentation Navigation
    • Microsoft® PowerPoint® 2021 provides you with the ability to tailor your presentations to suit the exact needs of your audience. Understanding how to take advantage of these options means that you will be ready to deliver your message regardless of the situation, without a lot of rework.
  • Securing and Distributing a Presentation
    • You have done a lot of work to create the perfect presentation. It is important to secure that file so others can't make changes. And you might need to distribute it electronically. Microsoft® PowerPoint® 2021 provides features to help you with both tasks.
  • Completing the Course
    • You'll wrap things up and then validate what you've learned in this course by taking an assessment.
